Gameday 156: Paul Skenes looking to help Pirates avoid sweep against Cincinnati
Paul Skenes vs Hunter Greene
The Pirates will look to avoid getting swept for the second straight weekend, this time against the Cincinnati Reds.
Even with two of their best pitches on the mound, the Pirates have been uncompetitive this series. They’ve been outscored 15-4 in the first two games.
They will have Paul Skenes on the mound this time around. He struck out seven over six innings while allowing one run on four hits.
He ended up getting the loss.
Cincinnati will have Hunter Greene on the mound. He allowed six earned runs over four innings his last time facing the Pirates.
First pitch is currently scheduled for 1:10 pm ET.

So Cook and Yorke have one more home run in 17 combined games for the Pirates than BDLC has in 41 games. And modest home run power was the one thing he had going for him.
If Skenes is done for season, he finishes it with an ERA under 2. Just an incredible season.
