After historic comeback, Pirates go for sweep
Maybe the only thing that could really top the Pirates thrilling come from behind win that saw them erase a nine run deficit is to compete the three game sweep of the Cincinnati Reds.
After Bailey Falter struggled, allowing eight runs in 2+ innings, the bullpen held strong for the majority of the game, at least long enough for the offensive to explode.
Jared Triolo picked up four hits, and Alfonso Rivas drove in five runs during the Pirates historic comeback.
After Sunday’s game, the Pirates will have Monday off before heading to Philadelphia for a series against the Phillies. There is just seven games remaining on the season, with one final home series against Miami to close things out.
