Gameday 157: Pirates begin final home series of season with Bailey Falter on the mound
Bailey Falter vs Tobias Myers
The Pittsburgh Pirates begin the final home series of the 2024 season against the Milwaukee Brewers.
They lost two of three over the weekend against the Reds, avoiding a sweep after another fantastic start from Paul Skenes.
Bailey Falter will get the start for the Pirates. He’s pitched well in September, posting a 2.50 ERA in three starts. He got the loss in his last start against the Cardinals, although he allowed just two earned runs across 5.2 innings pitched.
He last faced Milwaukee in April, tossing seven innings of one-run ball, striking out eight batters, and getting a win.
Tobias Myers gets the start for the Brewers. He’s split two games against the Pirates this season, with the win coming from pitching eight shutout innings in July.
Pittsburgh needs to go 3-3 over their last six games to match their win total from last season.

I'm picturing Matt Arnold in the Brewers box looking down at the Pirates and mimicking the Will Ferrell scene from Wedding Crashers, as Ben and Co. hang glide into a cliff
I'm so glad Palacios is back so they didn't have to pressure Billy Cook too much in a big spot
