Gameday 157: Pirates start final road series of 2023 in Philadelphia
Three game series last road trip of season
While the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds were fighting for their playoff lives when they played the Pirates recently, the Philadelphia Phillies are a little more supplanted in the Wild Card mix.
They enter this three game series against the Pirates with a 87-69 record, the most wins in the NL among non division leading teams.
That being said, the Pirates took two of three against the Phillies earlier this season and are arguably playing their best baseball since the start of the season.
Going back to their sweep of the Kansas City Royals, the Pirates have gone 16-9, winning every series they have played except for the one against the Washington Nationals.
First pitch of the Tuesday and Wednesday games are 6:40 pm ET, with the series finale set to start at 6:05 pm ET.
