Gameday 160: Pirates begin final series of the season on the road facing the Yankees
Jared Jones vs Carlos Rodon
The Pittsburgh Pirates begin their final series of the 2024 season on Friday, heading to New York to face the Yankees for three games.
They dropped two of three to the Milwaukee Brewers in their final home series, losing 5-2 on Thursday.
Heading into New York with a 74-85 record, the Pirates will need to win two of three to tie last year’s win total, a sweep would allow them to surpass it.
They will have Jared Jones on the mound Friday, as he will face 16-game winner Carlos Rodon. Saturday, Paul Skenes is scheduled to face Luis Gil, with Bailey Falter currently set to play on the season finale.
First pitch to Friday’s game is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET.

I sure wish Chapman would be this version of himself more consistently, but whatever, they need to bring him back. My guess is GMBS won't try. As far as I can remember, he's never tried to bring a FA back (of course nearly all of them have sucked) except Cutch, who was never his choice to begin with.
Yankee stadium agrees with Reynolds.
