Weekend series against the Marlins to close out schedule
The Pittsburgh Pirates were able to salvage one of the three games they played against the Philadelphia Phillies, behind Luis Ortiz innings of one-run baseball.
Jared Triolo stayed hot with a couple of doubles while also driving in a pair of runs. A total of four Pirates picked up multiple hits.
Dauri Loretta, Ryan Borucki and Carmen Mlodzinski bridged Ortiz’s start to David Bednar picking up his 38th save of the season.
The first two games of the season have an expected first pitch of 6:35 pm ET, with the Sunday finale at 3:05 pm ET.
