Gameday 161: Paul Skenes makes final start of 2024, Pirates have two games left
Paul Skenes vs Luis Gil
With just two games left on the schedule, Paul Skenes makes his final start of his historic rookie season in a day game at Yankee Stadium.
The Pirates took game one of their series after the offense supplied three home runs—two from Bryan Reynolds. Nick Gonzales also hit his first home run since June against the Colorado Rockies.
Skenes tossed five shutout innings his last time out against the Cincinnati Reds, allowing just two hits while striking out nine.
