Gameday 17: Pirates head to New York for three games against the Mets
After splitting a four-games versus the Phillies, the Pirates start another set against a NL East opponent.
Behind Mitch Keller’s seven solid innings, Andrew McCutchen’s 300th career home run, and Jack Suwinski’s grand slam, the Pirates were able to salvage a series sweep against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Their attention will shift to the New York Mets as the Pirates open up a three-game set on the road before returning home.
The rotation has been among the best in the game but was dealt a blow yesterday with the news of Marco Gonzales hitting the injured list. There hasn’t been an official announcement on who will take his spot in the rotation.
Martin Perez will take the mound for the Pirates, with former Milwaukee Brewer Adrian Houser the expected starter for the Mets.
First pitch is expected for 7:10 pm ET.
