Gameday 31: Mitch Keller on the mound against the Athletics
Pirates looking to rebound after being held to just two hits
After being held to just two hits on Monday, the Pirates look to bounce back and get back on the winning side of things.
Ke’Bryan Hayes and Oneil Cruz picked up base in the game, with the offense also drawing five walks on the day. The lone run they scored was on a wild pitch by the Athletics’ starting pitcher, Joe Boyle.
Bailey Falter got beat around a bit, allowing five earned runs over five innings pitched, including allowing a home run to Tyler Nevin.
With losses in five of their last six games, Mitch Keller will hit the mound for the Pirates and will be opposed by left-handed pitcher Alex Wood.
First pitch is expected at 9:40 pm ET.

The transactions page is getting on my nerves today. If you go here -- https://www.milb.com/indianapolis/roster/transactions/pittsburgh-pirates -- and scroll down, you'll find a host of guys promoted from the DSL to the FCL, so that'll be much of the FCL roster to start the season, along with guys who were already assigned there (like Zander Mueth). I'll start on a preview when I get a chance. Of course, this would be a lot easier if milb.com would just post FCL rosters, but that's too obvious.
