Such a shame. Noah Cameron for the Royals had a no-hitter in his MLB debut until the 7th inning when a groundball single snuck through. He was only at 70 pitches. No one since the great Bumpus Jones in 1892 has thrown a no-hitter in their MLB debut.
Sounds like Nick Kingham's debut. Although I believe Kingham went deeper with his no-hitter. Nonetheless, both were extremely lucky. Cameron although no earned runs, had a xFIP of 5.85.
Yeah, from what I watched, Cameron looked pretty good, but not great. His slider/slurve is very good, but his fastball and offspeed stuff seem so so. There were some hard-hit balls right at people and the D bailed him out several times. Witt made a 5-star play to rob a hit, and Renfroe stole a double from off the top of the wall.
This scouting report from Fangraphs seems pretty accurate to me. "His delivery is effortless and repeatable, and Cameron commands all four of his pitches, giving him an incredibly high floor as a prospect because he has basically no relief risk. .... Though he lacks star-level stuff, Cameron is a stable, polished no. 4 starter prospect."
Pham works hard. Apologizes to the fans for how bad he sucks. he takes it and keeps working hard. I am pulling for him and shouldn't be hearing those boos.
Austin Hedges also tried and didn't deserve to hear the boos.
Rowdy was a lazy-ass. Seldom ran hard to first and told Pirate fans how they need to act. Imo, he was the exception.
Not only do we get to watch a lousy player, but we get the added bonus of him being an absolute dipshit, doing that jerk off motion to one fan and making the little dick comment to a Yankees fan. What a loser. This management team was adamant that they wanted Pham. This organization is a fucking joke.

Subdued congrats on the victory……nice outing and save from Bednar. Prayers for the fan and the fans family…
Why tf is it not Santana getting ready for the save?
He's on the bereavement list.
Oops I missed that, thank you for the heads up
Ferguson making Shelton look good with that outing.
Did someone fall out of the stands?
Fell over the clemente wall. Did two flips on way down. Looked pretty bad.
It looked very awkward, I can link a 6 second video of it. VIEWER BEWARE
THIS LINK IS VIDEO OF THE FAN THAT FELL.

Not easy to tell from that distance, but it looked like he was trying to do a handstand on the railing.
That or his hand or something was stuck on the rail, when he jumped for excitement it catapulted him forward.
Latest is that he’s at Allegheny General Hospital in critical condition.
That's a shame, hope he can make a full recovery.
Yes. The person was lying on the ground motionless and eventually carted off, but no word on how the person is doing.
That’s awful. 🙏
Yes, they were lying motionless on the ground. Pretty horrible to see even from far away.
There was someone IN the stands?
Someone fell out of the stands?
Finally some help from the opposition.
A good break for the Pirates? Color me amazed.

Sort of a left-handed version of Harrington... more or less.
Actually I guess it was kind of a line drive, but a shame nonetheless.
I hate that players like Pham have to be the target of boos while the guy who signed him gets to hide in his office.

Well said sir!
Pham worth -0.5 fWAR
That’s just bad luck. With more ABs he could get to -5.0.

Well at least their ostensible reasonable to sign him was mentoring their budding young star.
Worth every bit of that WAR.
The double plays! What an epidemic of hitting into these we are in.
Please release Pham…
Release them all.
We can really count on Tommy. A model of consistency
How long are we stuck with this phlailing phool?
1-2-3 for Matoma with a strikeout.
Sitting 94. K was a breaking ball looking.
Statcast says it was a cutter, but that's definitely just a slider. Feel like Gyrosliders get mistaken for cutters a lot
Looks like the same pitch, ie, slider, to me. Hitters aren’t picking it up.
No, they were having issues with it there. He looked good. Much better command than last start
I’m sitting right behind home and it looks like the FB coming in. Late break.
Uribe sitting 96.
Saw Uribe during spring and liked the stuff was just struggling to throw strikes.
Has been much better with that during the season. Good specs on the FB along with the velo too
