Gameday 37: Pirates look to snap five game losing streak with Paul Skenes on the mound
Paul Skenes vs Matthew Liberatore
Bryan Reynolds hit a two-run home run in the first inning, giving the Pittsburgh Pirates an early 2-0 lead.
After the Cardinals tied it up, the Pirates retook the lead in the fourth inning. But St. Louis once again rallied back to score four runs in the sixth inning, giving them the lead and eventually the win.
Adam Frazier drove in the third run for the Pirates, while Enmanuel Valdez picked up two hits.
The Pirates have now lost five in a row and have a record of 12-24. They have Paul Skenes on the mound, coming off a rare rough start in which he allowed three solo home runs and walked four batters.
Matthew Liberatore gets the start for the Cardinals, with a scheduled first pitch time of 7:45 pm ET.

Gotta be tough knowing you can only get a win if you allow negative runs.
And that’s the end of that.
