After four straight come from behind wins against the Mets by the Giants my previous disappointment about those last two games before this Atlanta series is lessening a bit because that's baseball, lol. The Buc's just caught a team at the beginning of a crazy run.

Pirates take first two from Braves. Reds take first two from Dodgers. WTH is the NL Central trying to prove? Baseball.....

That it's a muddied division. 90 wins would win this thing for sure. 85 might if the Brewers eat the injury bug too hard. Hopefully some hitting reinforcements arrive, because this team could take the division with a little more juice. Pray for Davis, because he's the most likely guy to turn it around and contribute.

Most of the veteran signings have been disappointing but I’m starting to think there’s something to Grandal. Falter last night and Keller today were quick to praise his game-calling.

He's already better than Hedges, and he allows the team some wiggle room to let Davis cook in the minors.

It's just great to watch Keller right now. It seems he has gotten to the place of a solid front end starter.

Starting pitchers having a contest with least amount of walks. Huge advantage when you’re not giving up the free pass…go right at ‘em & make them beat you!

He just turned 28 in April and this is his sixth year in the majors and I think he's just getting started. If he can stay healthy his age 28 to 32 years could be really special.

Looking like a great extension

Per P-G, Pirates are 10-3 in games that Grandal has started.

They are playing better. Without the bullpen meltdowns against the Giants they’d be on a six-game winning streak ……

As people have pointed out often, Keller is so much better placed as a #3 than as a #1. Skenes, Jones, and Keller are a formidable top 3.

Things really turned around when Gonzalez and Skenes were called up. They can contend for a wild card if the bullpen holds up, and Tellez is cut.

Jeez, Gorski again.

Meanwhile, Tellez doesn't even come in as a fake defensive sub any more.

Gorski has played 1b, is it getting any reps there lately?

Hat's off to Mitch 'Not an ace' Keller, lol. Another fine start eating innings!

It's Mitch 'ACE of May' Keller, hopefully the of May can be dropped. He's been great at limiting damage and shortening the game.

Mitchie the Kid strikes again!!!

Mitch might not be the flashiest pitcher in this rotation, but he knows how to get batters out. It’s like if he wants to have a strikeout game, he can. If he wants to work quickly and induce a lot of quick outs to go deeper into a game, he can. He really is something to watch when he’s on his game.

A good win all around. These past two games have been a flash of what this team has the potential to be.

Here’s to a sweep tomorrow.

I was going to say that with two outs, no one on, up three, we were safe.....

As tye Gunner would say "There was no doubt about it."

not to be too picky but "There was no doubt about it." was Lanny Frattare's phrase. The gunner would often say "We had them ALL the way!"
