Thankfully didn’t stay up to watch, but after watching the highlights, it’s clear Pirates got screwed by a horrible 3-2 strike call. However, that’s burying the lead. The real reason they lost is Padres generated their runs with great base running, and Pirates IF defense let Keller down.

The box score says Keller gave up 3 earned runs, but competent IF defense saves two of those runs from scoring.

Greensboro is a fun watch. White’s been showing signs lately and Polanco doesn’t get many hits but they usually go a long way when he does.

Did they send Head back to Greensboro lol

If I’ve seen Head take 50 AB’s I think he’s struck out 49 of them. He was the piece in that deal I was hyped about way back when.

Not far off. On the season he's 3-for-48. Don't see that a lot.

That call with Davis was the league preserving losses for the Pirates. Oh well. The pattern of losing game 1 and winning the next two is still in play. Tough in SD, though. Lost 10 in a row there!

Tough game, 14 Ks and only lost by a run. Well will get them tomorrow.

Batters 5-7 in the lineup - Davis, Hayes, Frazier - 0 for 12, 10 K's! Frazier also made a bad throw to the plate from only about 75' away.

Bases loaded 3 to 2 score 8th inning. Henry up with the bases loaded 3 and 2 count with 2 outs. Clearly a ball, but they call strike 3. The game should now be tied with the bases loaded, instead the inning is over.

Gameday location definitely shows it as a ball. Even if an ump has the voice of their Little League coach in their head saying, “Two strikes. Swing at anything close,” they have to call it straight.

He did. Clearly a ball. If you're watching the game and didn't see it, rewind just before the break. If you think these guys don't care, read Mitch Keller's lips. Dude is straight up fired up.

At this stage, I just want robo umps so I never have to see another catcher make a dumb movement with his glove trying to frame a pitch.

If I never see a catcher pull his glove up damned near from the dirt to act like the ball was middle-middle, that would be swell.

I've been to 4 minor league games this week and sick of the challenge system. I could list the reasons, but spare you. I DO want the robo umps though just to relay the call to the ump. I saw games like that last year and loved it.

I agree that the challenge system is stupid.

I want robo umps in the tennis sense. Track it. Call it. No bullshit.
