Gameday 62: Pirates go for sweep against the Dodgers
Pirates send Bailey Falter to the mound to face Walker Buehler
Paul Skenes picked up his third win of the season after pitching five innings, allowing three runs and striking out eight.
The offense came alive Wednesday night, scoring 10 runs—seven of which came in the second inning.
Nick Gonzales drove in four of those runs and lifted his OPS to .855 on the season. He, along with Edward Olivares and Ke’Bryan Hayes, recorded multiple hits on the night, but Gonzales was the only one to have something go for extra bases.
Only Andrew McCutchen and Jack Suwinski failed to pick up hits for the Pirates’ offense.
With the Pirates looking for the series sweep, they will send Bailey Falter to the mound. The Dodgers will have Walker Buehler pitch, making his sixth start of the season.
First pitch is expected at 6:40 pm ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
After a 22-game stint in Triple-A, Henry Davis is back with the major league team. Ryan Palencer talked to Indianapolis Indians hitting coach Eric Munson about the former first-overall pick.
