Gameday 7: Pirates look to bounce back from first loss of the season
Martin Perez is the expected starter, making his second appearance of the season.
The Pirates offense could only muster up four hits, and Mitch Keller allowed five runs (four earned), and they eventually lost their first game of the season by the score of 5-3 to the Washington Nationals.
Keller has had a tough start to the season, with an ERA of over six in two starts. Jack Suwinski was limited to start the year by the sheer number of left-handed starting pitchers they faced, but he faced a righty and got his first double of the season.
He would even add in his first home run of the season, but it was against a lefty.
Martin Perez will get the start for the Pirates, who was solid in his first game against the Marlins.
The Nationals will have Josiah Gray take the mound for them in what will be his second start of the season.
First pitch is expected at 4:05 pm ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
Our draft coverage has shifted to Wednesday, so yesterday we looked at Dallas Baptist righty Ryan Johnson and his unique delivery.
Today’s Feature
The mailbag returns today with a look at some hitting prospects, my thoughts on the Jackson Wolf situation, and Michael A. Taylor’s number choice.
Minor League rosters are out. WTM is working on previews for each affiliate and I'm going to be doing something on the side for each one as well. I will start dumping the previews out so that they can be out before the games, and then the stuff I will be working on will be out over the next couple of days.
