Welp no 37 tonight but will get it tomorrow with Jones. Hopefully he will get the strike calls whenever he hits the zone that he did not get last time out. Will start the series win tomorrow!

Pretty much everyone except Reynolds is in a slump.

Hopefully we’ll be seeing Ashcraft instead of Mlodzinski starting vs Reds next week. Although it could be criminal to have him start his 1st MLB game in that bandbox.

Expand full comment

but I think Martin and Marco will be back by then

Borucki too

Expand full comment

Yeah. I doubt we see Ashcraft in Pgh until BC flips both Perez and Gonzalez, ideally for something like Byrd and Morneau.

I don’t think you’ll see a “baseball trade” involving those types of players, they would most likely be separate trades. Nevertheless, I agree with the premise here, which is to add to the roster. Doesn’t need to be a superstar, just someone that can give you competitive ABs on the daily.

hope we trade Ashcraft, Harrington and Barco for hitters

hope Perez goes to the bullpen with Boruki

hope Marco stays healthy

Boom!!!!! Goes BRey!!!!!!!

Chandler through 7 innings 2 hits 1 walk 10 strikeouts on 85 pitches.

It’s a good night to dream on him in a rotation with Skenes, Jones, Keller, and Ashcraft or Barco or ????

Harrington

call him up

Expand full comment

To Indy, increase his trade value.

Expand full comment

call up Termarr too

did you see him mash MLB pitching last March?

Wil Bednar with a 3.60 era in single A

Hayes is such a huge disappointment this year. I was hoping, maybe even expecting, a big year from him with the bat.

Expand full comment

No doubt about it. A huge disappointment!

Expand full comment

Cruz is a disappointment too. Can't hit lefties. And I've had enough of Conner Joe. Had a good month to start season but hasn't done much since. Too many platoon players on this team.

Expand full comment

Joe had very similar stats last year, crazy hot the first 100 ABs or so, then fell off a cliff. Check out his xwOBA and that’s pretty much all you need to know.

Expand full comment

Hayes and Triolo are interchangeable

Expand full comment

Yeah they both can't hit.

Expand full comment

Wish we could hit like this.

Expand full comment

This Tampa team is really not that impressive of a line up. They’ve been outscored by 70 runs this year, but tonight will help that some of course. They sure look good against the Pirates though.

Expand full comment

Lowe has a 642 ops this year

Expand full comment

Not anymore.

Dude was solid last year. More productive than anyone on our side.

Expand full comment

would be a fun challenge trade to swap him for Suwinski

Expand full comment

So you’re saying we can hit like this?

Expand full comment

sun of a gun

lowe´s got game

Expand full comment

Tonight.

Expand full comment

Chandler with 8k's on 43 pitches through 4 innings.

Expand full comment

9k's on 54 pitches through 5 innings, still just the leadoff double as the only hit. 15 straight set down. Sitting 96 to 98 with the fastball according to the announcer.

Expand full comment

Gave up an infield single and a walk in the 6th. 78 pitches, was losing his control a bit that inning.

Expand full comment

call up Peguero vs lefties

Expand full comment

Oneil´s ops vs rh pitching is .841

his ops vs lh pitching is .358

Expand full comment

As was noted on the broadcast, Pache sucks this year vs LHB. No reason Cruz shouldn't have been able to crush him.

Expand full comment

You don't really see platoon SSs but I don't think Cruz is even a SS actually.

Expand full comment

if we are trying to win, this starts tomorrow

Expand full comment

They're not.

Expand full comment

Unfortunately, this is Cherington's and Shelton's version of "trying to win."

Expand full comment

he can learn to hit lefties in the domican winter league

Expand full comment

smh...

Expand full comment

in 2022 his ops vs rh pitching is .837

that year, his ops vs lh pitching is .532

Expand full comment

Termarr with another HR tonight. Apparently he is just a slow starter. If he keeps this up another couple of weeks he is probably headed for Altoona. Maybe after the SAL all star game.

Expand full comment

Maybe all those harsh words written about him by “experts” have lit a fire?

Expand full comment

I expected more from Cutch there. Then again, for his career, bases loaded is his kryptonite.

Expand full comment

Pretty unclutch, Cutch.

Expand full comment

Can the Pirates ever have a good third base coach? Damn.

Expand full comment

That’s twice in the past week we have not taken the run when the other team is giving it to us. Ridiculous

Robello makes me miss Cora, never thought I would……
