Gameday 83: Pirates look to avoid sweep against the Braves on national television
Pirates play on Roku Sunday
Paul Skenes spun another fantastic outing despite not having his best stuff, but the Pirates managed just one run on the day and eventually lost in extra innings.
Bryan Reynolds picked up a triple in the ninth inning, extending his hitting streak, but that was the only extra-base hit for the Pirates all game. Michael A. Taylor scored the only run on the day on an Edward Olivares base hit.
The Pirates will now have to try and steal one on the road to avoid getting swept, with this game being on national television. Bailey Falter will get the start for the Pirates, who will try to get back on track after a rough June.
Falter has a 6.63 ERA in June going into his final start. He will oppose the 24-year-old rookie Spencer Schwellenbach, who will be making his sixth major league start.
First pitch is scheduled for 11:35 am ET.
