Gameday 86: Pirates open series against Cardinals after weekend sweep
Andrew Heaney vs Erick Fedde
After sweeping the New York Mets over the weekend, the Pittsburgh Pirates open up a new series at home on Monday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The offense scored 30 runs in three games, capped off by a 12-run effort on Sunday, where Oneil Cruz hit a pair of home runs. Mike Burrows allowed one run over 4.1 innings pitched.
Ke’Bryan Hayes and Tommy Pham were among the players to have big weekends for the offense.
The Pirates have now won six of their last 10 games and have a winning record at home. They have the third-fewest road wins with 12.
Andrew Heaney has allowed 14 runs over his last two starts, spanning eight innings.
They are 2-4 against the Cardinals this season, but have won two of three games at home against them.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 pm ET.
