Deep cut here: https://www.fangraphs.com/players/alan-roden/31564/stats?position=OF

The sort of guy we should try and trade a Andrew Heaney and a reliever for imo^

Not a bad target, I'd like a compB draft pick straight up for Heaney. Roden would be a good get for Heaney and a reliever other than Santana and Bednar (leverage guys bring almost double their actual value). Bednar or Santana might get him by themselves.

I was thinking Heaney and Holderman

That'd be great. I'd like them try a prospect for prospect trade, something like Harrington for Zac Veen, Colorado needs pitching pirates need outfielders.

Zac Veen is pretty bad. He was given a chance by the Rockies this year, with a lot of hype about how he was finally ready to contribute, and did nothing with it. Not all first round picks pan out, and Veen does not look like someone who is going to get it any time soon.

He had 34 at bats in the majors, Harrington has an era over 10 in his 2 big league appearances. Veen is striking out around 20% of the time in triple A, hitting around .300. It would be a change of scenery trade for each in areas of surplus for an empty area for the other.

Could do that one too and then trade Cruz

Is the world ending? My brain can't compute all these runs over the last four games - and against teams with winning records. Fun while it lasts! How does this mess with the impending deadline?

Per Pirates.com, that’s the fourth game in a row that the Pirates have won by more than seven runs. The last Pirate team to do that was the 1925 World Championship team, from August 29 to September 1.

24-24 under Kelly and 14-13 in June. They won’t dig themselves out of the early-season hole, but at least they’re often fun to watch.

1) We don't have to suffer watching Sheltie's seeming indifference.

2) That 24-24 record isn't cheap. It feels like the Pirates haven't played a team with a losing record since last fall.

Didn't get the out but that play by Pham and Nick shows how the Pirates are playing some good baseball right now.

Love him or hate him, Pham does play the game hard. It’s obviously left a positive impression on Cruz, who mentioned him as a role model figure the other night after he was benched.

State-run media showing love to Konnor Griffin and Esmerlyn Valdez. Very positive sign since state-run media doesn't get fans' hopes up easily.

Now I’m seeing it as a good sign, if he’s in long enough to change his laces he is having a good game, but try to do it in the 5th inning in the dugout.

Need a GIDP here. Need to sell Heaney as an innings eater to potential trade partners.

20 plus pitch inning for Heaney. I guess try and get one more inning out of him.
