Gameday 87: Paul Skenes on the mound as Pirates look to clinch series against Cardinals

The Pittsburgh Pirates won their fourth straight game, defeating the St. Louis Cardinals 7-0.
Andrew Heaney pitched 6.2 shutout innings, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out seven. It was his fourth win of the season. Chase Shugart pitched the final 2.1 innings.
Spencer Horwitz led off the bottom of the first inning with his second home run of the season. He finished the night 2-3 with three RBI, also adding a double.
Each player in the Pirates’ lineup recorded a hit, as they finished with 11 as a team. Bryan Reynolds went 2-4 with a run scored. Ke’Bryan Hayes went 1-4 with two RBI.
The Pirates will have the chance to clinch their second straight season with a win on Tuesday. They will have Paul Skenes on the mound and will face Andre Pallante.
