Gameday 9: Pirates look to bounce back with Bailey Falter on the mound
After dropping their home opener, the Pirates look get back in the win column
Jared Jones showed some more of that electric stuff in his first-ever start at PNC Park, striking out seven batters in six innings pitched, but that wasn’t enough as the Pirates lost 5-2 to the Baltimore Orioles.
The Pirates got solo home runs from Oneil Cruz and Jared Triolo, but the Orioles got three of their own from their players.
With the loss, the Pirates' record drops to 6-2. They will look to get back to their winning ways on Saturday with another game against the Orioles, with an expected start time of 4:05 p.m. ET.
Bailey Falter is expected to start for the Pirates, with Tyler Wells on the bump for the Orioles.

Yesterday’s Feature
There were a lot of articles going live yesterday on the site, probably too many, as it forced some down quicker than usual. A lot was going on, though, as we got you the final two minor league roster previews for Greensboro and Bradenton.
Paul Skenes made his second Triple-A start, which worked out perfectly because we also had two features yesterday. I had a video breakdown of some stuff that stood out in his first game, and Ryan Palencer wrote up a fantastic feature after talking to him.
One last thing: Nola and I dropped the first episode of our new Bucs on Deck podcast on Friday. I will be working to make it available on all platforms this week, but due to my brief hospital stay, I wasn’t able to do that initially.
Please have a listen and let us know what you think! We will try to be as regular as possible, but as we saw yesterday, life happens!
It'd be pretty damn funny if Bart suddenly turned into the guy SF thought he'd be.
Had to do some errands. I get back and the internet claims Bailey Falter has thrown six one-hit innings against one of baseball's best teams.
So . . . . . . baseball
