Gameday 90: Pirates look to rebound after losing streak is snapped
Mike Burrows vs Luis Castillo
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ six-game winning streak was snapped at the hands of the Seattle Mariners on Friday, losing 6-0.
Bailey Falter and Braxton Ashcraft allowed four home runs, two from Cal Raleigh. The offense struggled to find any momentum, although Nick Gonzales registered three hits as his average jumped over .300.
They now look to start another winning streak with Mike Burrows on the mound, who will face Luis Castillo.
First pitch is scheduled for 10:10 pm ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
Jesus Castillo gaining confidence after making swing change
Every offseason, players attempt to make adjustments, aiming to correct aspects of their game that they are struggling with. Some make adjustments in their timing, such as removing a leg kick, while others resort to more drastic measures.
Today’s Feature
Pittsburgh Pirates get fantastic pitching in the minors on 4th of July
The strength of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ minor league system still resides in the pitching. Even though they graduated Paul Skenes and Jared Jones, and will have two more move on soon (Braxton Ashcraft and Mike Burrows) the organization still has plenty of arms up and down the system.
