Don’t see a lot of help in AAA for infield. Williams, Chang, Peg”s. All there OPS have gone down a lot in the last 2-3 years. Nunez has lost his Hr power. Just weird that with all the infielders that BC drafts that only Gonzo and our super sub is in the big league. Is there something that I’m missing

Bucs had to get to Castillo. They stood no chance vs Brash or Munoz.

A couple of 2018 catching draft picks, the top catching pick from that draft (pick 2) and the best catcher in the majors (pick 90). Baseball

Which is the bigger disappointment as a hitter this year, Reynolds or Bart?

Reynolds is one of the guys, probably the most extreme one, whose expected outcomes are far better than the results he's getting. His batting data at Savant is pretty much indistinguishable from last year's.

Bart, otoh, isn't swinging the bat any better than the results indicate. His numbers at Savant look like SF Bart, not like 2024 Bart. They ought to be shifting the playing time more toward Davis.

Bart by a mile, IMHO. BRey has looked like he's put it together a couple of times, then loses it. Much of his statcast data is still in line with career #s and he'll still get his 80+ ribeyes. Bart has looked lost pretty much all year and just hasn't been aggressive at all, taking a ridiculous # of meatballs.

Bart sucks. Davis should start 3/4

Minimally, there should be an honest 50/50 split until one of them differentiates himself. But really, Davis is the more athletic, younger guy with upside so . . . yeah.

Mattson seems the type of guy who should've tried out for Top Gun school.

Not that anyone of us needed to be reminded of the teams weakness but the first two games are so frustrating and such a reminder of how bad BC did in putting an offense together compared to the pitching and defense.

Pirates have the chance to do the most 'law of averages' thing ever and get shutout for three straight games after doing the exact same thing to another team the previous series

We're back facing #1 and #2's. It's discouraging.

It would be very on brand for the Pirates to follow up the 3 shut out victories with 3 shutout losses.

Good baserunning (and coaching) by Polanco at third base. Freeze on grounder to Key.

And score on next batter.

I hate watching Joey Bart catch. Never holds his target. So low try back there.
