Gameday 92: Pirates head to Kansas City after getting swept in Seattle
Andrew Heaney vs Noah Cameron
The Pittsburgh Pirates head to Kansas City to open up a three-game series against the Royals after getting swept by the Seattle Mariners.
Paul Skenes struck out 10 over five innings pitched on Sunday, but the Pirates lost after Carmen Mlodzinski gave up a home run in the sixth. In fact, the next run the Pirates score will be the first since last Wednesday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
They swept the Cardinals last week, not allowing a run, and then were swept by the Mariners after failing to score a run.
Andrew Heaney will get the start for the Pirates, facing another lefty, Noah Cameron, with an expected start time of 7:40 pm ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
Mike Burrows continues to make strong case to hold rotation spot
It may be easy to forget that Mike Burrows was the best pitching prospect in the Pirates’ system not too long ago.
Today’s Feature
10 Observations: Omar Alfonzo first week in Altoona, Termarr upside, Zander Mueth
Murphy 7/1: I feel like Levi Sterling could use the Carlson Reed treatment, and split the fastball into two, if it hasn’t been done already. Lots of the metrics have come back ‘meh’ and add in the fact he’s throwing low-90s, it’s gotten beat up quite a bit in the FCL.

Days without evening minor league games to watch are the worst baseball days.
Seriously, the whole contacts thing is one of the more extreme, wtf? issues we've had under BC, but if he's gonna hit he has to play.
