So the Brewers trade for Andrew Vaughan, the failed top draft pick of the White Sox, who after scuffling for years had a .538 OPS and -1.8 bWAR in 48 games with the Sox this year. So they finally gave up.
In five games with the Brewers he has 2 doubles, 2 HRs, an OPS of 1.500 and has accumulated 0.4 WAR. He has more WAR with the Brewers than he had in 570 at bats last year with the White Sox.
I think there are several players underperforming badly on that roster. Some teams just cultivate the mentality of a loser in the clubhouse, and all the players suffer. The White Sox may not be the only team in the majors with this problem.
The Brewers front office knows what they're doing. So does their coaching staff. They're not pretender nerd jackasses like ours. Every year they cobble together a pitching staff from next to nothing and are always trading off expiring assets. I expect Horwitz would be OPSing +.150 in Milwaukee closer to what he did in Toronto last year.
He went 1-2 on the day with three walks and no strikeouts. His A ball OPS is still over 1.000 and he has 11 steals in 12 attempts. The guy continues to be flat out impressive. I’m ready to say he’s the best offensive prospect in the system other than Konnor Griffin.
Dumitru has been hitting well since coming over from Atlanta. Haven’t gotten the chance to watch him play the field yet. Any insight on how he rates defensively?
I was out for a while and didn’t realize they had an afternoon game. Lucky break.
So now I can go straight into the daily post-game routine of trying to find some new way to express how stupid the two shitwits responsible for this fiasco are. But what really is left to say? The Nuttingtons are the Nuttingtons. Forever and forever.

Cruz hurt his hip trying to catch a HR in the 7th. That’s why he was removed for a pinch runner in the 8th. May have a hip flexor.
There goes the derby
A fair amount of pitchers opting out of the All Star game. That needs to go in the next CBA, make it mandatory to go......
We get the Skenes vs Skubal match-up that Kelly wouldn't oblige to.
Florentino gets hit off a lefty.

Trouble with him staying there too long is, he’s gonna get f*** all to swing at.
He did get pick off by the lefty he got the hit off.
Skenes to start the ASG.
Is Kelly managing the NL? If so, he'll pull Skenes after 3 pitches.
Cook has two dingerz.

You mean Titus the Conqueror?
The very same
I am Groot!
Help us Obiwan Groot, you're our only hope.
They said he's back in the dugout and ok.
Dad says “all good.” Yay Dad!
He had an x-ray and he’s fine. A short interview with him is on the P-G website.

Sounds like it’s precautionary with Griffin
Griffin takes a fastball off the wrist and leaves the game. Could have just been precautionary, but not great
Looked like it hit his forearm just above the wrist.
Just such a Piratey 2025 thing to happen. 97mph off the wrist!!! Are you f$&@ kidding me
Ladies and gentlemen welcome to being a Pirate fan!
You can’t be serious.
Not great but perfect for the American gothic novel that is the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Jesus wept…man this franchise.
Definitely a tragedy.
Good that I missed Heaney throwing Home Run derby BP. His trade value is suddenly cratering.
Griffin gets on with a swinging bunt, then overslides a steal attempt and gets tagged out.
Infield hit for Griffin.
Both ABs pounded the ball into the ground aka Kevin Newman. But the pitching is a level above anything he's seen.
