Gameday 97: Pirates try to avoid third straight sweep
Mitch Keller vs Simeon Woods Richardson
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ losing streak is now at eight games after losing to the Minnesota Twins on Saturday, 12-4.
They allowed four home runs to the Twins, while Byron Buxton hit for the cycle.
Joey Bart went 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Mike Burrows allowed six runs on five hits and three walks over 1.1 innings pitched. Oneil Cruz also left the game early with an apparent hip flexor issue.
Mitch Keller will start the last game before the All-Star break, and he will face Simeon Woods Richardson. First pitch is scheduled for 2:10 pm ET.

A loss today would put the franchise at .500 for the first time since August 25, 1903. I mentioned it yesterday for those who didn't see it, but online records are missing an 1884 win, so the current franchise record actually sits at 10,878-10,877. You probably saw it wrong from quite a few people yesterday, but that's understandable because it's listed wrong everywhere online (unless you see my posts). If they lose today, they will be at .500, despite what you might read elsewhere.
Since scorers seem to have so much discretion now, give this W to Mitch.
