Gameday 98: Pirates kick off second half with series against White Sox
Bailey Falter vs Jonathan Cannon
The Pittsburgh Pirates open up the second half of the season after the All-Star break and will face one of three teams with fewer wins than they have.
They were able to erase an eight-game losing streak with a win in the final game before the break against the Minnesota Twins.
With 65 games left, the Pirates will have to go 37-28 the rest of the way just to tie the 76 wins they finished with a year ago.
Bailey Falter will kick things off and will face Jonathan Cannon. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 pm ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
Pittsburgh Pirates 2025 DSL update
We are a little over a month into the 2025 Dominican Summer League season, with both of the Pirates’ teams there at, or over, the 30-game mark.
Today’s Feature
Shalin Polanco learning new mindset from failure
It’s hard to believe that Shalin Polanco is still just 21 years old, having his birthday in February. Signed as a 16-year-old, Polanco was given the second-largest international bonus from the Pirates in the franchise’s history.

MLB Draft 2025: Pirates swing for the fences looking for tools, upside
Major League Baseball may have the biggest crapshoot when it comes to their respective draft compared to the other major sports. Even being a top selection rarely guarantees success at the next level.
We have monthly and yearly plans available, with the latter costing an average of $4.16/month.
Good thing Bob hung onto Ben so the team could focus on winning in the second half. No telling how bad things could have gotten otherwise. They could even be doing stuff like getting routed by the White Sox.
Florentino with an RBI double for Bradenton. They are up 7-1 right now
