I'll be honest it feels weird drafting so 'low'. Many of these players if rankings hold won't be around for the Pirates to draft. I'll stick by the old mantra... best player on the board which Ben has basically done outside of Tank. I also worry about thinking players from college can fast track or jump straight to MLB as that list has too many casualties. Torkleson seemed like a great candidate and it took about a year a half at the MLB Level to start looking like he MIGHT become a decent major leaguer. Dominating SEC is not a sure thing and I hope we don't feel some of that reality with Skenes. (hello Mr. Leiter).
Because of the reasons you have already stated regarding college hitters, the Pirates could be better served, to use the 9th pick to take the #21 Prospect on BA's Top 100, HS LHP Cam Caminiti. He was projected as the #3 pick in the 2025 Draft, but opted to do what was necessary to enter the 2024 Draft instead. He'll still only be 17 at the time of the draft. Pay the No. 9 money to him and walk away with a smile.
You are not gonna do it this year sir, I’ve been influenced by you (T. Johnson), Nola (Green and Crews) in the past, this time I’m making up my own mind. No sir, not today!
At that rate, in a 162 game season he'd have 258 RBIs. At the rate he was going to get 24 HRs & 24 doubles, he'd have about 50 of each in a full MLB season. If, in MLB, there was an average of 2 players on base for each home run, that's 150 RBIs. So he'd need 108 more RBI's from non-homers. What am I missing here if the numbers presented are correct?
I've made this MLB complaint before and I'd love to be good enough to be waived and claimed 4 times in an offseason BUT -> I'll bet Max gets waived again when Mets need a roster spot. I think once a player is waived and claimed (pick a number - twice?) several times in an offseason they should become a free agent instead of landing in the last team standings AAA roster. That won't land them on a 40 man but at least allow them to maybe choose where they feel they may actually have their best opportunity. Max needs to spot in a AAA rotation IMO.. hope he ends up in a good place.
Andre Jackson to the BayStars, Ben couldn't figure out a loophole to get Roki.
It would’ve been a fair trade, Andre for Japan’s version of LeBron!
Besides it being against the rules, BC should have pulled it off. Would have made it a little better off-season lol.

Bazzana had Ben at Cape Cod MVP, though I suppose Sirota could challenge him after his "great run in the Cape Cod League".
The Pirates won't draft any of these players. Too much power. Who are the light hitting middle infielders available in the draft.
Griff O'Farrell out of UVa and Silva out of TCU lol. Silva might have too much power though.

But THIS time it’s fr... ;)
You got Johnson right! To his credit the artist formerly known as Bucs & Pucks threw Green and Crews name out a whole year before their drafts!
105 RBIs in 66 games? That's gotta be a mistake.
Sounds like I should be wrong but it isn’t. He also had 24 HRS and 24 doubles in 273 ABs.

Dylan Crews got on base a lot in front of him.
Mets claimed Max.

Tommy Tanks fan club checking in
Tommy Tanks or Kurtz sound good for early leaders.
Fine, I’ll jump on the Nick Kurtz’s bandwagon.
I don't know but Travis Bazzana from Australia needs some mlb time to get on the all time name list.
Just move to the interior some once you jump on. You need to allow room for me and anyone else to jump on board. 😁
I have to say, the belly is getting bigger by the minute, the moment someone say they lost weight I seem to find it, so it might be a bit tight!
