Still a lot of time (6 months) before the Amateur Draft, and all of the kids involved will have their own HS or College seasons to add to their resume's. Baseball is a business and therefore there are an outrageous number of "experts" to listen to or read, and with the advent of the exotic measuring equipment for hitters and pitchers, it is difficult for any ballclub to not have enough information to consider.
We can measure talent; much more difficult to properly assess character and work ethic as it applies to this sport. Have they developed problem resolution techniques and applied them to their games as they matured? How did they do academically in HS/University? Were they involved in activities other than just Baseball? Are they self-starters with a strong work ethic?
This is the easiest way to make a terrible selection in an exercise that even the best and brightest routinely get wrong. The answer in the top 10 is always best player available period.

2 of our top 13 prospects are hitters. We need college bats and we need lots of them.
What we need is somebody else choosing and coaching them.
I agree but the pitching looks pretty solid from A to AA at least.
And then something happens.
I think the college bats will go before us abd we’ll get to choose from top prep players and top college arms. I’ll take it.
I sure hope they don’t use a high draft choice on a high school hitter or pitcher for that matter. They need players now and not in 5 years.

Very true. Having said that, Griffin aside, none of these guys appears to be BPA at 9. All subject to change of course.
I would target Tague Davis, not in the first round but somewhere from the 2nd through 4th or the 11th on.
I dont see tommy tanks, im not interested
Derek Curiel has a defense over offense profile and yet profiles as having one of the better contact rate, I’ll take it, 3rd round please!
