After being the last pick for the Pirates in the 2022 draft, Joshua Loeschorn has put together one of the best seasons in the system when it comes to relievers.
Unfortunately, the Marauder bulppen provided yet another example of what I've been saying for some time: due to terrible drafting and development, there's no pitching depth in the minors.
I feel like he's been more of the poster boy of not focusing on stat lines, but more on the process of development. His FF always had elite shape, but he was focusing on spin efficiency and control of it. While also working on secondaries like his changeup. It's only been recently, within the last month I'd say, that he began ramping the velo back into high 90's. He was sitting low 90's up to about 94 earlier in the year. In addition flashing a changeup that has seemed to have really taken steps forward.
This is fantastic info that I hadnt heard! Just saw rough stat lines and assumed that there was something behind it, but I wasnt sure what. An improved changeup will be very helpful as he ascends leagues with his fastball. Any good breaking stuff?

The Sightler thing is getting silly. Just hit one out. Barely got out, but it went to CF and he didn’t have a great swing as he was fooled slightly. Pitch before he hit one way out to RF but a little foul. Guy barrels everything.
6'3" and 215- seems like he already has a good feel to pitch, so if he can get that velo from 90->95, he could become something real in a hurry! Was wondering about him when i saw his name in boxscores so happy for this writeup!
I'm going to try to get some video together of him, because his slider is nasty. Quite a few guys from that draft class last year don't necessarily have overpowering fastballs but have great secondary stuff to go with it.
As an outsider, feels like todays techniques should make at least adding velo to be a fairly easy and reliable process so maybe they feel confident they can do that while picking guys that already have good offspeed offerings to pair with

8 runs in the top of the 9th! Thats a crime
Is Bubba figuring it out? Hopefully he makes KLaw look like a genius.

He has a nice slider that could use some work in the control/command department
That should come with time for a guy as athletic is he is, I would bet
All of a sudden hes got two fantastic starts in a row!
If he can string together a few more they might give him a few starts in Altoona.
He was amazing. I’ll put the video together when I get a chance. I’ll throw in Tuesdays game as well since a chunk of it was cut out
Cant wait to see for myself!
I got the Greensboro and Bradenton games running next to each. That change up is disgusting. Hitters not close going after the elevated fastball
Yordany goes deep. He seems to be figuring it out. He may have been over-anxious at first, over swinging constantly. Not doing that now.
Definitely getting more comfortable. And he’s so smooth on defense. Couple good plays there today
Just lined a 2-run double on an 0-2 pitch. Low A baseball suddenly slowed down for him.
I was just going to say, seems like the last week or two has been a whole new player. Feels like he has a chance to become a real good one

I have no idea what could be keeping him from being promoted, this is doing nothing for his development
