Griffin had two K's, both swing and misses on curve balls. We've seen this before....Cruz, Nicky G.....he'll learn how to hit it or to recognize it and lay off the pitch. Learning curve.

Either we have not had the talent in the first place, or our developmental program for position players/hitters has been in need of change. If it's the latter, Griffin would be better starting at the MLB level. But, I see good things out of that group that moved from FCL to A this year. Maybe it's the talent alone, but I think we must have a few good folks at both of those levels. Hope they start Griffin at A as a CF/SS/3B/1B/DH, etc.

I already made my stance, starting LF on opening day or I will quit baseball.

But seriously, hope his bat develops, I prefer him in SS, but I will gladly take CF and let him spend most of his time developing his offense.

He practiced with the infield group at all of the practices at Pirate City. The games have been primarily outfield. He told me the Pirates want him playing both this year.

Sanford's bat will probably play a large part on what glove Griffin will be using.

kid's a no-doubt big league CF either way, but especially with Sanford on the same developmental path.

I'm more interested in where he plays with regards to how many low level SS's they currently have. Not a lot of ABs to go around at the moment for the amount of actual SS's they've accumulated lately. Which, is actually a good thing for once.

If he starts at A he will be surrounded by some of the best young talent in the Pirate system. But, that means he will be behind YDLS at SS, and Jhonny Severino at 3B. I would like to see him at A for the challenge and the fact he will have to play many positions to get the AB's. Termarr started at FCL in 2022 for 23 AB. In 2023 he started at A and did well.
