Can’t wait for him to play SS his entire minor league career, then have to stay down 6 months longer than he should have to get a few games in CF, then watch him move to CF full time for the first time in the majors, and have to learn on the fly
I feel like the wet blanket on the excitement. To me there was one question when he was drafted - can he hit and that will be a level to level journey. All the other tools kind of are empty if he doesn't hit. The good news is, as reported, is that he has already made adjustments and is uber athletic which makes one feel the odds are better than others in him reaching his potential. I am as pumped as everybody else on the possibilities but I'll be looking at that box score daily for K rate and anxiously awaiting (thank you) the observations and data culling (bat speed etc) from those of you who keep me so informed. I guess I am not really a wet blanket but it seems the biggest remaining tool is the hardest tool to predict and achieve as even some extremely accomplished college hitters fail to solve that hitting puzzle.
Not a wet blanket at all, I just like baseball. Watching that guy hit, run, field and throw is so fun to watch. Watching how he interacted with kids after practices and games this spring makes me like him even more. To me, he has proven he is major league ready at age 18, except for the most important that you mentioned. The good thing he is 18 and yes if we have expectations for him to jump to the majors any time soon, we better cool our jets. The Pirates better not rush this guy before he is ready. In the meantime, I am going to keep enjoying the clips with little expectations.
Yea, my post was really me talking to myself and if it applies to others that is fine. I love updates like this from Anthony and others so I hope I didn't imply it was overly optimistic. Watching great athletes play is fun which is why (a total tangent) I wish some of the old school 'more balls in play' could come back. With so many three outcome hitters we are robbed of a lot of fun defensive highlights by players like Griffin.
The triple is really impressive. OK, it was to right field, but it was a line shot that the right fielder played cleanly off the wall on one bounce and came up throwing immediately. Getting all the way to third on that is remarkable.

Someone sent me a text saying that the 1960 Mazeroski 10 to 9 game had zero strike-outs.
There was no strikeouts in game 7 from the box score on Baseball Almanac.
Dominic Perachi moved to IL-60. That sucks.
Looks like somebody else didn’t get the memo about KG moving to CF.

First thing I thought. Routine double nearly all the time.
Looks the part of a future star.
