I thought the Jebb pick was a mistake and then thought it confirmed with his first year K's but he has turned around my misguided opinion. Lets see if he will continue to hit, steal, field as he advances.

itching for Jebb in AAA just to get some batted ball data on him.

86mph is my partially-scientific lower bound of viable exit velo for an average big league hitter. It's super cool the Simpson's and Arraez's of the baseball world exist, but they're proving to be the exception to the rule instead of signaling some overarching change in the game. 80 hit/speed dudes have and will succeed in any era, but Jebb probably ain't that.

Can he be a .700 OPS hitter who steals 25 bags and plays close to elite CF?

There’s a place for him if he can?

I think you've hit about exactly the over/under for a viable big league starter. Well done.

For me, whether he *can* be that guy hangs on whether or not he's got enough punch to be in that 85-86mph exit velo range.

He's running a contact rate around 85% in AA, which is obviously good, but those dudes I've mentioned are well into the 90s. If he's *only* a 70 speed/contact guy *and* in that 83mph velo range I think he busts.

Pirate runs the last 7 games 1 0 2 4 4 1 3 = 15 runs total

K. Griffin's hits last 7 games 3 1 4 3 1 1 4 = 17 hits total

Pirate runs the last 17 games 1 0 2 4 4 1 3 4 2 3 0 1 3 0 1 4 3

K. Griffin's hits last 17 games 3 1 4 3 1 1 4 1 3 0 0 2 0 2 0 3 3

(Pirates have more, but the lines don't look much different.)

Yeah, but KG hasn't scored five runs in a game yet.

Actually, in his last 17 games KG has scored 19 runs. The entire Pirate team has scored 36. And bear in mind, Bradenton is near the bottom of their league in scoring.
