MLB Playoffs: Phillies look to wrap series up against Braves
Spencer Strider on the mound trying to keep season going for Braves
The Houston Astros punched their ticket to another ALCS after eliminating the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday. It sets up a battle of two Texas teams, with the winner moving on to the World Series.
After a Royce Lewis home run in the bottom of the first, giving the Twins the lead, Michael Brantley and Jose Abreu went deep for the Astros, giving them a 3-1 lead.
Edouard Julien homered for the Twins, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.
The Philadelphia Phillies took control of their series against the Atlanta Braves, fueled by not just one, but two home runs by Bryce Harper that included staring down Orlando Arcia, who made some comments in the locker room after game two.
The Diamondbacks completed the unexpected sweep of the Los Angles Dodgers, winning game three 4-2.
Arizona hit four home runs in the third inning, and was backed by Brandon Pfaadt’s 4.1 shutout innings. The bullpen allowed two runs later on, but Paul Sewald closed the door for his fourth save of the postseason.
They will now sit with a chance to rest Zac Gallen and line him up to pitch in Game one against either the Phillies or the Braves.

So, of the four finalists, half are just two years removed from losing over 100 games. So how'd they improve so much faster than the Pirates, aside from not being burdened with Ben Cherington? Lessee . . .
Arizona -- $121.4M
Texas -- $223M
Boba the Nutt -- $79.3M
Nothing about the necessity for a rebuild made the Cherington clown show necessary.
Termarr Johnson's swing will end up looking a lot like Bryce Harper's.
