Brannigan’s bad start is ominous. The Pirates have a pattern of college hitters destroying high A and then hitting a wall in AA. I’m guessing AFL pitching is probably the rough equivalent of AA.
At least he has a cannon of a right arm to potentially fall back on if the hit tool doesn't develop. I hope they start him in Altoona next year none the less.
Well... maybe there was a reason they let Nunnally go. He was the most tenured and probably most experienced of their minor-league hitting coaches, but the Pirates have just not done well in developing hitters.
