Morning Rundown: Award finalists to be named this week, Zach Neto could miss time in 2025, Marlins hire manager
The finalist for some MLB awards will be announced this week.
The finalists for the MVP, Cy Young, Rookie, and Manager of the Year awards in both the NL and AL will be announced on November 11. On top of that, the Silver Slugger winners will be announced on November 12.
The finalists were originally announced earlier this month. Bryan Reynolds is among those up for the award.
The first and second-team All-MLB teams will be announced on November 14, along with the Henry Aaron Award, Reliever of the Year, Edgar Martinez Outstanding DH Award, and Comeback Player of the Year.
The winners for those awards that finalists were named early in the week will be announced the following.
The Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto could miss the beginning of the 2025 season after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Neto, 23, hit .249/.318/.443 with 23 home runs and 30 stolen bases in 155 games last year. The injury came toward the end of the season against the Chicago White Sox.
The Miami Marlins are reportedly set to hire Clayton McCullough as their new manager. ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez was the first with the news.
McCullough was serving as the Dodgers’ first base coach, and will now take over a Marlins team that finished 62-100 in 2024.

We have monthly and yearly plans available, with the latter costing an average of $4.16/month.
So, the week we officially lose a year of control of Skenes. Of course that's fine because it's clearly created a greater sense of urgency on Ben's part--"get better _faster_"!
Skenes a finalist for ROY and CYA.
