The Cy Young Award was handed out for both the AL and NL on Wednesday. Tarik Skubal won the AL unanimously after winning the pitching triple crown (wins, ERA, strikeouts).
He received all 30 of the first-place votes. Seth Lugo and Emmanuel Clase were the other two finalists.
Skubal posted an 18-4 record, with a 2.39 ERA, and struck out 228 batters in 192 innings pitched.
Chris Sale won in the NL, with Zack Wheeler and Paul Skenes the other finalists. It was a fantastic season for Sale, who has had a rough couple of seasons previously due to injuries.
It was the most innings he has pitched since 2017, and he won 18 of his 29 starts. He posted a 2.38 ERA with 225 strikeouts in 177.2 innings pitched.
The MVP award will be announced today at 6 pm ET on MLB Network.

yinz happy with Falter in the rotation or think we need to acquire a left handed starting pitcher?
Maybe this solidifies Sale’s HOF case.
