The Los Angeles Dodgers won game one decisively, 9-0, against the New York Mets in the NLCS.
Max Muncy opened up the scoring in the first, hitting a two-run single. It’s been a bit of a slow start for Ohtani, but he went 2-4 with a walk, two runs, and an RBI.
Mookie Betts put things even further out of reach by hitting a bases-clearing double in the eighth inning.
While the offense showed up, Jack Flaherty ensured the Mets made no comeback effort. He tossed seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out six.
Game two will be a day game (in Los Angeles), with a 4:08 pm ET start time. Sean Manaea is currently the projected starter for the Mets.
Game one of the ALCS kicks off on Monday as well, with the Guardians and Yankees having an expected start time of 7:38 pm ET. Alex Cobb will pitch for the Guardians, with Carlos Rodon going for the Yankees.

Met a dude at an art fair my wife was slanging her wares at. He was from the capital of SC but man was he a Pittsburgh fan. Dude remembered Chico Lind and Belliard. Slyke was his favorite. Felt good to go all Springsteen on the Buccos with someone face to face. Hope everyone has a fun day.
Edit: Anyone remember this

Lots of talk of parity in the playoffs around here.
The top 3 teams combine for roughly $867 million in payroll, or roughly $289 million per team.
Those 3 teams are ranked 1, 3 and 6 home runs. They are ranked 1, 3 and 7 in ISO. 1, 2 and 7 and wRC+.
Those same teams rank 14, 15 and 17 in pitching fWAR.
Wanna make a deep playoff run? Spend some money on the home run hitters.
