Im going to add that barco also needs promoted, i know hes only two starts back, but he can run 2-3 inning outings just as easily at bradenton or greensboro where he has a chance to be challenged
I think the FCL games are mainly so that he can be near the complex and that those games are more controlled. In my head, I feel like the 2-3 inning thing will probably what we will see the rest of the season, which I'm ok with. Keep him in Bradenton so they can monitor him closely, starting in Greensboro next year and then finish in Double-A
Alright here's your daily reminder that Sightler needs to be promoted two weeks ago! Kid is mashing and old for the level, why keep him at the lowest level?
Yeah, I'll be confused as to why they left so much pool on the table. Didn't go into 5% last year, and looking like they won't even use up all of their pre-5% pool.
Considering they signed 20 of the 21 draftees, not much they could have done to spend more. Can’t force a kid to forgo his scholarship and sign when he has that scholarship in hand. Kid is betting on himself to improve his skills and make more in a couple of years by being drafted far higher and get a far bigger bonus somewhere.
i’m no draft expert, but i’m sure there were some moderately over slot guys they could’ve gotten in rounds 3-10 instead of 1-2 of the 18 college relief pitchers they took
Other factors go into it, but they can sign UDFA's for any amount now. Then similar to rounds 11-20, any amount over $150K counts against the pool. So, in theory, they could sign a UDFA for $1.27M, or two for $710K each.
I think to use pool money it has to be by 5pm today. They can sign undrafted free agents after but are capped at 20 or 25 thousand. Not certain though?

I thinks thats a pretty reasonable two year plan, maybe he and bubba can combine to form a 2025 wave of pitchers to reach the big leagues

Ernie Ordonez was released today by the Pirates, so that could be a precursor to Sightler going up
I sure hope that you are right!
We'll know for sure in a couple of hours, but it would make sense. Logan Hofmann was released too.
Man feels like we just drafted him, but moves makes sense especially with the reduced farm systems.
He was part of that first draft class. He put up some insane spin rate numbers in Bradenton, but stuff never translated to Greensboro
Unless they find a way to get Cuvet, I can’t imagine even getting close to their bonus pool limit - not great!

They can keep signing UDFAs after today, correct?

To be honest, I'm not sure. I believe it's the same July 25th at 5pm (weird people time. 4pm my time, central). But I'd have to confirm with Ethan.
