The fact that this franchise has 4 winning seasons in the last 32 years might just embarrass some people. Apparently not the owner and GM of this sinking ship.
My 6 year old son told me last night he was "going to be into pirates". Sadly he meant swashbuckling ones that sail the seven seas with peg legs. Such is Pirate fandom I guess.
I'm following Siani and when he returns Kellington. I'm Italian and would like to visit Vermont. Hope y'all have a great day. Go Pitt.
"Pirates clinch another losing season". A very difficult goal to achieve considering the Pitching was rated 14th - 9 spots higher than in 2023. Leading the way was our Rotation which adjusted for 110 IP the Pirates ranked 13th - 13th Skenes, 57th Keller, 69th Jones, and 72nd Falter out of 104 Starting Pitchers who have logged at least 110 IP. Ortiz would have been somewhere very close to Jones and Falter with his +0.9 fWAR, but he did not log enough innings as a SP. I think he was our second ranked RP behind Aroldis Chapman.
Why another losing season? Not enough leadership from our field general, Derek Shelton, and not enough consistency in the hit game. Shelton's 5th year of losing seasons since being hired prior to the 2020 season would be more than enough to earn a ticket out of town. Don Kelly would be my choice to step up from Bench Coach to Manager. A local kid who played under Jim Leyland for the Detroit Tigers.
Shelton eats breakfast with Leyland every other Sunday . What makes you think that Kelly is not part of the problem? If letland doesn’t want to do the job himself , he should not be getting in the way of firing all these bumbs.

Jason Kendall as manager
AJ Burnett as pitching coach
Jack Wilson as first base coach and if instructor
Bonds as hitting coach
Cerebellum as third base coach
On pace for the same losing record as last year and added Skenes, Jones and a healthy Cruz. Epic fail.
