Morning Rundown: Endy Rodriguez leaves rehab game early, Pirates clinch another losing season
Endy Rodriguez leaves rehab game, Pirates lose 82nd game of the season
Endy Rodriguez left the Indianapolis game early with what is being called ‘general right forearm fatigue.’
He made two throwing errors on base stealing attempts, which after the second one a trainer came out to talk with him before eventually leaving the game (it was like a pitch or two after the throw).
Rodriguez was rehabbing with Indianapolis after undergoing Tommy John during the offseason. He did some rehabbing at Pirates’ City before joining the Altoona Curve for the last week of their season, and then went to Indianapolis.
In 10 games between the two levels Rodriguez was hitting .256/.293/.385 with two doubles and a home run.
The Pittsburgh Pirates clinched yet another losing season on Friday, getting blown out on the road to the Cincinnati Reds.
Mitch Keller’s rough second half continued, as he allowed eight earned runs on seven hits and five walks in 3.1 innings pitched. That ballooned his ERA up to 4.21.
Isaac Mattson made his first appearance for the Pirates, pitching two shutout innings and strikeout a pair of batters.
Oneil Cruz went 2-4 with his 20th home run of the season. That gives him a 20/20 year. Joey Bart also went 2-4 with a RBI. Rowdy Tellez hit his 18th double of the season.

The fact that this franchise has 4 winning seasons in the last 32 years might just embarrass some people. Apparently not the owner and GM of this sinking ship.
My 6 year old son told me last night he was "going to be into pirates". Sadly he meant swashbuckling ones that sail the seven seas with peg legs. Such is Pirate fandom I guess.
I'm following Siani and when he returns Kellington. I'm Italian and would like to visit Vermont. Hope y'all have a great day. Go Pitt.
