The 'BIG" bat in the Scottsdale victory was Detroit Farmhand Josue Briceno, 20, who went off for 3 HR in last night's game. Lost most of 2024 at A due to injury, and looks like an excellent LH Hitting/strong defensive First Baseman, although he is listed as a C/1B. Was not a big power source at A, but showed excellent contact. A younger version of Endy?

The Dodgers keep showing us how fleeting pitching depth can be….

Shohei Ohtani with TJ, Yamamoto has been less than hoped for, Ryan Pepiot traded to get Tyler Glasnow (IL), Clayton Kershaw never came back from his injury, Walker Buehler is working his way back, Julio Urias has had injuries and legal issues related to wife battering, Dustin May has been like the pitcher who will never leave the IL, and Bobby Miller (battery mate of Henry Davis in college) has hit the wall with injuries and ineffectiveness.

From a team that was always strong on the bump, they have become a team that needs to win with offense in 2024. That said, they won their division regular season, beat SD in the playoffs, and are now a step away from the World Series. A team with Character, Veteran Leadership, and an excellent Manager. Don't sleep on them!
