Well, it's at least looking like it. He wasn't a well liked guy before the accusations, but that doesn't mean that the accusations were true and it's looking now like they decidedly were not.
Dave F. Littlefield, until now the worst GM of recent times, never had a sub-.400 team. His first team went from 62 wins to 72. He couldn’t go any farther, of course, because he was Dave F. Littlefield, but it’s just not that hard to win around 75.
Did he do the shelby miller deal? thats the only whiff i can think of recently from them and a bunch of moves that look fantastic, namely the varsho for moreno baseball trade that looks like it provided them a franchise cornerstone for a decade (fingers crossed he isnt out for long with injury)
Jase Bowen's 1.136 OPS ranks him 11th in the AFL so far. Could be rushing the Hot Stove season, but this kid could be the answer for the Pirates in CF, and especially with the RH bat with pop, and his ability to steal bases. Drafted in the 11th Round away from a Baseball/Football College Scholarship, he played a little in 2019, missed all of 2020, but still played all of A+ this year as a 22 year old. Promoted to AA Altoona for the last week or two this season and will start 2024 in CF for the Curve. I hope he gets the opportunities to play CF in the AFL.
Didn't he have to repeat both A levels? Took him over 200 games just to get out of Bradenton. Don't think you can have him in the big club's plans til he atleast shows he can play AA.
He is definitely an interesting name to follow, either if we think he is a real piece or if a strong AFL can boost his value and could be a decent trade piece
Would not be surprised to see him pitching at PNC at some point in 2024. His Command is strong, close to mid-90's velo on the FB, with two good off-speed pitches - a Slider and a Changeup. At AA in '23 he had 47 IP, finished 15 games with 6 Saves and a 10.3/4.4 K/BB/9.
Jose Hernandez will be LHRP #1, and the Pirates will probably try to sign Ryan Borucki off of his excellent 2023 year for the Pirates. Samaniego will start the year at AAA, and hopefully will be having another good year and be available when needed.
Thanks for the reminder! Crazy I watched the game, and then checked the box score before I did the write up, but my brain completely skipped over it. Even had a note taken down on him too lol.
bauer exonerated?
No thanks
moar Andre Jackson and Brady Falter
At least they are garbage humans (as far as i know)

Is there a more underrated franchise and exec than the Arizona Diamondbacks and Mike Hazen?
Didn't know he was a branch of the Cherington Tree.
2012 he was promoted to VP and assistant GM under Cherington.
me neither actually, good find.
Funny how they managed to rebuild with only one sub-.400 clunker. I thought that was supposed to be impossible.
Hazen turned around Dave Stewart's mess in a year at the beginning of his tenure, too.

lol no that was the Dave Stewart Era.
Honestly great point, a franchise-level example of an owner who's kind of an idiot but struck gold with a specific hiring in Mike Hazen.

Tyler pitched last night: 1 clean inning with a strikeout ⚾️
