How did the Pirates get a talent like Severino (still only 18) for Santana? Could the Brewers have asked for Ro Castro to be added without raising any eyebrows within the Pirates org?

College bats raking in A ball, eh? Jebb and Cimillo in Bradenton and Sightler and Brannigan in Greensboro. Let’s hope one or two of them can do the same thing once they reach Altoona.

Nice games by Bubba and Ortiz. Wither Contreras? Is he pitching any where?

Good to see Josiah S with another multi hit game. Can’t wait to find out if he is for real or just a college senior blowing away inferior competition.

How do I find out Mitch Jebb’s exit velocity? I am on Baseball Savant and did a search, but got nothing I wouldn’t see on BRef. Tried all of the options…….nothing.

Through 14 batted ball events, Jebb has an 84 mph EV.

Not good. Kevin Newmanesque.

And, a good lead-in to the trade of Newman for Dauri Moreta, who leads all of our relievers in IP, and has a 0.7 fWAR. Newman is now at 0.2 fWAR.

With the Newman trade, the injuries to Oneil Cruz, and Ke'Bryan Hayes, the Pirates have been able to see a lot of Castro, Bae, Marcano, Gonzales, and now, Triolo so far in 2023.

Also a very small sample size that one or two is really going to tank the overall number.

Then what is his ev minus those one or two?

If you take out his worst two it's right at 88 mph, which would be league average

True, but if you take out the top 2 as well it's probably close to 84mph.

Trick: go to MiLB Gameday/Box, get the game ID, then go to a random mlb game on baseball savant that same day, and delete the game ID and paste the new one. Not all places have it but most in FSL do.

Don't even have to do all that now. Just go to the game feed tab, and change it from MLB to Low-A, then find the Bradenton game
