I'm shocked, he's playing Peggy instead of Wiiliams though as far as knocking the Cards down another notch I think Bae over Capra would give us a better win chance. I'm not going to knock it though if Capra has a big day, lol.
Glad to see Bubba Chandler finish it out strong with a 5 inning Start at A+ and getting him up to 107 IP. I think that is more than double his work in 2022. And Lonnie White, Jr with an OPS over .900.
They are two of my list of 10 "20 and under" Pirate prospects who excelled this year - Solometo, Chandler, White, Jr, Kellington, and Terrero all 20; TJ, Polanco, and Ercolani 19; and Kennedy, and YDLS-2 both 18. That's 5 SP's, a full OF, and a very strong MI.
Hard not to like Josh Palacios who has hit well for the Pirates in a couple of clutch situations lately.
Lonnie White, Jr for me is the most underrated prospect in the Pirates system:
*He’s still only 20 and doesn’t turn 21 until December 31st.
*At Low A he’s slashed .267/.408/.504 in a league that generally suppresses offense.
*He’s 10 for 11 in stolen base attempts.
*He puts the ball in the air, with a GO/AO ration of 0.68.
*With the Marauders he’s seen an impressive 4.2 pitches per plate appearance.
*His strikeouts are on the high side —- 48 in 137 at bats —- but he’s also walked 28 times.
I think he’s been downgraded both by analysts and us fans because he’s missed so much time. But he’s shown this year that when healthy he is an excellent player. Hopefully he’ll stay healthy, explode at Greensboro next year, and get to Altoona by the end of the season.
Definitely the full package. 27.3% K Rate/15.9% BB Rate is very respectable for a 20 year old with very little experience. Very impressed with the power numbers at A with 9 doubles, a triple, and 7 HR in only 135 AB.
Might as well just win today too
I probably jinxed Peggy out of the lineup with my comment about he should receive the most playing time, lol.
Ugh darn you!

FYI. You have the Altoona Curve beating the Altoona Curve in your rundown.
I'm traveling today, so we might need to use this as the Gameday thread since it's a day game.

The daily feature is on Bubba Chandler today since I saw him in person yesterday.

Since August 1st, he's had a 15.6% BB-rate and 22.9% K-rate. He's seemed to have gotten better, as he's stayed healthy and played more.
