Legend (already) has it that it was hit directly to the shortstop who simply moved out of the way. That guy has a wife and kids!

I’m really hoping Griffin does so well this year that there will be Chuck Norris-type memes about the kid.

Konnor Griffin hit one 120 mph over the centerfield wall, but ran out there and robbed himself from a homer..... bare handed.

Konnor Griffin caught the first out of an inning with his back against the centerfield wall…and the runner at third held.

If any hope even existed, yes. I think the Pirates may attempt something at some point between now and 2027 or 2028, but I would hope that they first try to get the Owner to "extend" the player contracts budget for 2026 to be equal with the average of the Cincy and Milwaukee budgets of 2025. That would probably amount to an increase of $25 mil from $90 mil this year to a projected $115 mil in 2026.

The Pirates fall further behind every year, and our GM cannot even attempt to sign any player or pitcher that could help this team. We should have been going for a Santander-type this year for the MOTO bat we sorely need. I hate to say this, but the City of Pittsburgh is going to lose this franchise if they cannot figure out how to stay competitive.

In 2011 Forbes estimated the Value of the Pirates at $301 mil. In 2024 Forbes estimated the Value of the Pirates at $1.32 Billion - quadrupling their Value in about 13 years. Crying poor in light of the facts is an insult to the long suffering fans of the Pirates.
