Yet another in a line of great starts by Keller. He may not be an Ace, as most define the term, but he’s an Ace in the fact he consistently eats innings with quality pitching.
Keller’s career resurrection story gives me hope QP can enjoy one, too. Hopefully beginning today.
He had it all in 2022 at AAA and MLB, but was never able to return to that same level in 2023 or 2024. Instead, Ortiz was his equal or better last year, and in 2024 has become a fairly dependable arm out of the BP or for spot starts. Big innings from him last night.
Good outings from guys like Kyle Nicolas, Hunter Stratton, Carmen Mlodzinski, and Ortiz put him on the trade or DFA block.
I saw him pitch 3 shutout innings against Harrisburg on May 5th. He started but they removed him after three innings with 58-37 on his pitch count. His control was mediocre but he did have the Senator hitters off balance as I saw a lot of awkward swings on his five strikeouts. Not sure why they removed him after three. It was a Sunday game with the Monday off day so maybe that had something to do with it. Chandler pitched the last three and he struggled a bit with his control also.

27 down. 54 to go.
The Pirates win 8-1 over the Jays on great pitching and not a little thump in the batter’s box!

CARROTS ON THE HOUSE!!!!
@> Hayes for his 2 for 4 night including 2 runs, 2 rbi and a bomb. Welcome back young man.
@>@> L. Ortiz for three one-hit innings of relief on a night where the bullpen was short!
@>@>@> Pitch Keller, who checked in with his customary quality start. Six innings, five hits, one walk and 8 strikeouts.

Lower case ace?
I had hopes for Ro, but the Pirates have up on him. Or did he give up on the Pirates? Would love to get the scoop on that one.

Considering what happened to his velocity, would you blame him for wanting a new voice in his ear?
A two-pitch Pitcher with only one of them being serviceable isn’t long for MLB. Even in the bullpen.
Has anyone seen Solometo pitch this year? What is going on with him?
Only made it two innings last night with the start. Eesh.
Opener. It’s becoming pretty evident he’s transitioning to the pen.
That’s the developmental equivalent of a big ole kick in the 🍆

Ya, it's really strange to me that he keeps pitching in relief. Wish we had a little more insight to what there plan is with him
I saw him a couple times in camp and he had no command.
They should have signed bumgarner to teach him how to throw like that
