Morning Rundown: Paul Skenes pitches scoreless inning for NL, Pirates complete draft with 10 more picks
Paul Skenes starts for the National League in the All-Star game, day three of the draft wraps up
A Jarren Duran home run gave the American League the lead and eventually the win against the National League.
Shohei Ohtani hit a three-run home run in the third inning, representing all of the offense for the NL. The AL answered with five unanswered runs, winning by the score of 5-3.
Paul Skenes started for the NL, pitching a shutout in the first inning, walking Juan Soto. He got Steven Kwan to pop out before inducing a ground ball to Gunnar Henderson.
After walking Soto, he got Aaron Judge to ground into a forceout to end the inning. Skenes threw 16 pitches, 11 of which went for strikes.
Bryan Reynolds entered the game and picked up a hit, going 1-2 on the day.
The Pirates start play back up on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
