Morning Rundown: Pipeline top outfielders, Top 100 day, Joc Pederson signs with Arizona

Pipeline wraps up position series and prepares to release top 100, Joc Pederson signs with Arizona.

MLB Pipeline wrapped up their series of counting down the top 10 prospects at each position, ending with the outfield, perhaps the most stacked group.

It’s also a look at just how deep the top of the 2023 draft was, as four players from it made this list.

After Paul Skenes was selected first overall, Dylan Crews, Max Clark, Wyatt Langford, and Walter Jenkins followed him, and all four found their way on this list.

The Texas Rangers outfield seems to be set for the immediate future, as they currently have two of the top three prospects at the position. Carter made his major league debut last year and was batting in the middle of the order for the World Series champions by the end of it.

After being drafted, Langford steamrolled through the minors, ending up at Triple-A to close the season.

After a quick rebuild, the Nationals end up with two here, with a third - Robert Hassell - also highly regarded.

With that series wrapped up, it leads into the release of their top 100 prospect show on MLB Network, which will air at 7 pm ET.

After reaching the World Series last year, the Diamondbacks continue to add in an attempt to make it back, now adding outfielder Joc Pederson to a one-year deal.

Pederson, 31, hit 15 home runs in 121 games last year, mainly as a platoon against right-handed pitching.

With more and more sites releasing their rankings, we have recently discussed the best format for our prospect list for Bucs on Deck. We wanted to do something different, but with pitchers and catchers reporting soon, we decided to do a top 25 and plan for something new in 2025.

Not only will we be doing a top 25 article, but there will be tie-in features throughout the week leading up to it and afterward. There will be a couple of roundtable tie-ins, and each writer involved in the rankings will have their own standalone piece highlighting a few prospects to watch.

The more I’ve been planning, the more excited I have gotten for it. I look forward to bringing it all to you!
