"It's more a function of a couple other players around him moving up as opposed to him falling. We received really positive feedback on both Zander Mueth and Hunter Barco."
Curtis has done very well for his level of minor league experience (A) coming into the AFL where many of the pitchers had already been in A+ or AA. 19th of 45 overall in ERA, 8th in WHIP, and 11th in Average. Gotta love the story of him almost out of the game due to nerve damage in his throwing arm, and continuing to work his way back. Still only 22, and not sure how much better he can get and maintain, but it's hard not to appreciate his effort.
Scottsdale needs to continue winning and hope for the edge in the head to head. They are 15-14 and play a team that is 16-13 today. They win, they tie, and go to the head-to-head results. There is also another team that is 16-13 going into their last game, so the possibility exists that all 3 could end the season 16-14. Sammy Siani has picked the most opportune time for him to show his stuff on a national stage - a LH hitter with exceptional OF coverage at all 3 positions. With a brother already playing at the MLB level, I would not sleep on this kid's chances! I think he is currently 8th in OPS at 1.031. Could he hit as well as MAT?
I would say the sub .700 OPS at AA last year shows he still has much to prove as opposed to the SSS of the AFL. I want to see mid to upper .700 OPS' at AA and AAA before I worry about whether or not he's an option for the MLB.
A reasonable expectation. I expect this SSS in the AFL will serve as a stepping stone for him to see the possibilities he has in his future. The way the Pirates have been with hitting instructors, I have difficulty putting any reliability on what numbers have been posted.
Would not hesitate to add NG and Triolo to that list and eliminate Hayes - his issue is physical.
Depending upon how this management team thinks, we could have seen the last of Bae and Suwinski, and possibly others.
My favorites to stay with the Pirates through 2025 are Triolo and Peguero - both multi-positional players with some pop in the bat. Don't see much use for BDLC, Williams, etc., and based on IKF's performance last year after the trade, he's not the type of player I want in the clubhouse. Get prepped for TJ and Peguero as interchangeable parts in the MI, possibly Brannigan at 3B if Hayes cannot overcome the back issues, and Tri remaining as the UT IF. Yorke and Cook also getting a lot of AB's as IF/OF players.
BA has a Bucs list up and I believe a chat on their prospects at 2pm today. NL Central is on for this week.
maybe a question for the chat but is there an eligibility reason Burrows wasn't included?
Chiarelli's answer in the chat:

Good to hear on Mueth. His control really went south after he was promoted.
Shouldn't be, as they had Burrows 10th on their season ending list
In honor of the return of our Dear Leader, I propose the following coaching appointments:
Hitting: Donny Iris, the man produced nothing but 'em. Banger after banger.
Bullpen: Bob's nephew who didn't get a christmas present last year, Bobby's got some making up to do!
Manager: dual role covered by Chief Legal Counsel
Public Relations: developer guy building that ferris wheel
At 76 years old, at least he brings experience.

How sweet it would be if Hague could salvage just one of Bae, Hayes, Peguero, Suwinski, Malcom Nunez, Hank
Would love to have been a spider on the wall to listen in on his interview to hear what his aproach would be for each of them

Strom is an intriguing hire. Did some great things with the Astros.
